One thing we all hate to think about is what happens if we get sick and quarantined, or hospitalized, or even worse – don’t make it through. But just like having a well-prepared will, it is so important to have your wishes and a plan spelled out in case you get sick.
Here is a basic outline that will help you tell your loved ones what needs to happen in case you can’t take care of your pets. We hope you NEVER need this list – but better to be prepared for the worst and hope for the best.
There is LOTS of information out there about this coronavirus, it’s affects on people and how best to survive this pandemic. There is also LOTS of misinformation about testing, treatment, medication and yes – how this affects animals. The health of our patients – your pets – is very important to us and we want you to have the most up-to-date and accurate information you can. So you can make informed decisions and at least understand what is happening with your pet. This is a link to what the American Veterinary Medical Association understands (so far) and what we need to be aware of. Once you read this, if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to call or email us.
